The Ward Study

LaCharles Ward is a PROMPT Fellow in the Department of Speech Communication; he is working on his Masters degree in Intercultural Communication and Gender & Sexuality. He received his BA degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Speech Communication with a minor in Psychology. He was a Moore Undergraduate Research Apprentice Fellow at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. His academic interests generally lie at the intersections of race, gender, culture, and education. Specifically, however, he is primary interests are Black masculinity, race and pop culture, and critical race theory and eduction. Alright, I am almost certain that if you have made it this far, you have developed a fondness for my more “formal” bio…. Anyway, I am just a progressive student who loves all things Black culture…yes, even the not so great parts of Black culture (i.e. loud sounds, uncoiffed weaves, college-thugs) ok, I quit. Outside of my “society of the nerds,” I have interests in wine and spirits, art, music, politics, fashion, technology, social networking and a host of others. I enjoy long walks along the beaches…ok, seriously? Who actually take long walks along the beaches? I don’t, I have my reasons…to cliche, don’t judge me!

Welcome to All Things Considered, I do hope you enjoy our blog!
